🦵 Knee Pain: Why It Happens—and What You Can Do About It

Knee pain is one of the most common reasons people seek chiropractic and physical rehabilitation care. Whether it started gradually or came on suddenly, knee discomfort can interfere with walking, exercise, work, and everyday life. The good news? Most knee pain responds extremely well to the right combination of rehabilitation, movement correction, and hands-on care.

🔍 Common Causes of Knee Pain

Knee pain is not always a “knee problem.” Often, it’s the result of imbalances or dysfunction elsewhere in the body.

Some common contributors include:

Poor movement mechanics (from the hips, ankles, or feet)
Muscle weakness or imbalance, especially in the glutes and quadriceps
Overuse or repetitive stress injuries
Previous injuries that didn’t fully heal
Arthritis or cartilage wear
Sports-related strain or sudden trauma
Because the knee sits between the hip and ankle, problems above or below it can place excessive stress on the joint.

💡 How Chiropractic & Physical Rehabilitation Help

Our approach goes beyond temporary pain relief. We focus on restoring proper movement and function.

Your personalized care plan may include:

Chiropractic adjustments to improve joint mechanics
Targeted rehabilitation exercises to strengthen supporting muscles
Soft tissue therapy to reduce tension and inflammation
Movement retraining to correct faulty patterns
Home exercise guidance to support long-term recovery
The goal is not just to reduce pain—but to help you move better, stronger, and more confidently.

🏃‍♀️ Weekly Rehab Tip: Strengthen the Support System

Strong hips and thighs protect the knees. Try this simple exercise:

Chair Squats

Stand in front of a chair with feet shoulder-width apart
Sit back slowly until you lightly touch the chair
Stand back up, squeezing your glutes
Perform 2–3 sets of 10 repetitions
✔️ Keep your knees tracking over your toes
✔️ Move slowly and with control

If this causes pain, stop and consult with us for modifications.

 🚨 When to Seek Care

Don’t ignore knee pain if you notice:

Pain lasting more than 1–2 weeks
Swelling, stiffness, or instability
Difficulty walking or climbing stairs
Pain returning after rest
Early intervention often leads to faster recovery and prevents chronic issues.
